Tulpas (Tibetan Buddhist / modern practice) -- Materialized thought-forms created through intense concentration. Academic research (Dr. Samuel Veissiere) found practitioners reported improved quality of life. Modern "tulpamancers" consider them sentient, relatively independent mental entities.
The Other (Emmanuel Levinas, phenomenology) -- The Other represents irreducible alterity -- something that cannot be reduced to the self or totalized.
